Scholarship Description
The University of Pavia (UNIPV) in Italy is offering the Fund for Cooperation and Knowledge scholarship awards to students from Developing Countries in order to promote international cooperation with these Developing Countries.
The Fund for Cooperation and Knowledge award is intended to provide scholarships to students from Developing Countries, who wish to study one year at the University of Pavia, and to UNIPV students who would like to spend some months in a Developing Country for studying, researching and/or training.
The scholarships will be granted as monthly instalments to study at the University of Pavia.
Eligibility
The following apply:
- Only students are more than 15 years (born on/after the 1st January 1980) can participate.
- Must come from a Developing Country (preferably from Countries classified as Low-income economies and Lower-middle-income economies by the World Bank)
Citizens of Developing countries and Low-income countries.

Selected Masters degree programs, as listed below, offered at University of Pavia. Applicants may select only a course degree taught in English, selected among the following ones offered by the University:
- World Politics and International Relations;
- Electronics Engineering;
- Computer Engineering;
- Molecular Biology and Genetics;
- Master in International Business and Economics;
- International Master Program in Cooperation and Development

Six (6) scholarships will be granted for this session
Sponsorship duration
The scholarship is intended to cover only two semesters (one Academic year) and, so far, it may not be extended.
If you are selected for a course which lasts more than one year (a Master usually lasts two years), possibly, you might have to pay the expenses for the following years with your own resources. However, if you complete successfully the first year of your Master Degree you can apply again for a scholarship offered through the Fund for Cooperation and Knowledge scholarship award and there are very good chances to get it.
Scholarship benefits
UNIPV offers scholarships of €8000 Euros each during the academic year 2015-2016. Each scholarship will cover also the expenses for the Visa and for the travel to Italy and back (economy class).
Method of Application
Interested candidates must submit an application (available on the official website of UNIVP). To be considered for the scholarship, you must be admitted to a Masters Degree Programme at University of Pavia. Interested candidates must submit the scholarship application form together with supporting documents ONLY by e-mail (just one PDF file by email) by 12.00 pm of the deadline -- see below. (Note that the maximum size of the PDF file is 5MB; the name of the PDF file must report exactly the surname, then a dot, then the name of the applicant, e.g: surname.name.pdf).

The University and its students decided to create the ‘Fund for Cooperation & Knowledge – in and out of Pavia’. The Fund is financed thanks to the contribution both of the students (2 Euros each) and of the University itself.
