Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to pursue a two – year Master’s degree in Soil Science tenable at Makerere University. Applicants should be working with either national agricultural research stations, Universities or training institutions.
Candidates will be required to take a formal study leave from their employers and provide evidence of reintegration into their current place of work to support research and development activities in their respective institutions.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be nationals of either Uganda or Rwanda. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with 1st class honors or second class

Scholarships: AGRA will grant scholarships to selected candidates on a competitive basis. Female candidates will be given priority for scholarship awards. Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies (thereafter, the “School”), together with the University of Strasbourg, announces for the Academic Year 2011-2012 a public competition for 5 positions supported by a grant to attend the International Doctoral Program in Economics.
The School reserves the possibility of accepting up to a maximum of 2 further students without grant or other forms of financial support.
The aim of the program, in line with the standards of excellence pursued by the School, is to provide a training path oriented both at research activities and at professional careers in the private and public sectors, involving structured courses and supervised research yielding an original dissertation to be discussed in a public examination.

– A female postgraduate student who commenced full time doctoral studies (for PhD, DPhil, DMus etc) between September 1 2008 and October 31st 2009 or a part time student at an equivalent stage of her studies;
– be registered at a university in England, Wales or Scotland (not Northern Ireland);
– Your fees for the year from October 2011 must be paid or covered by available funds or waived by the university.

The British Federation of Women Graduates gives awards annually to women in their third and final year of doctoral studies. The awards are given on the basis of evidence of academic excellence and are NOT expected to provide for financial need.
