Scholarship Description
The University of Cape Town (UCT) is thankful to Ardi Louw for the Ardi Louw Scholarship for its continued support for financially needy students.
The University allocates significant funds on an annual basis for bursary funding for financially needy students; however, the demand is far greater than the funds available. With the generous donations of the Ardi Louw Scholarship, it has been possible to assist more students than would otherwise have been possible.
In short, UCT provides a non-repayable bursary and a repayable National Student Financial Aid Scheme loan to those that qualify.
Eligibility
GENERAL:
Eligibility for all financial aid from UCT is based on the following criteria:
- You must be in financial need as determined by the national means test eligibility assessment
- You are required to have passed or to pass 50% of all registered courses
- You must be a South African citizen or a permanent resident
- You must be applying for your first approved course of study
- Not have been placed under Administrative Order
Bursaries are available to undergraduate students studying towards a degree in Engineering.
Selection criteria:
- show academic merit;
- be a sporting prowess and financially needy;
- be a South African citizen.
