Scholarship Description
The University of Nairobi (UoN), in partnership with the Gandhi Smarak Nidhi Fund, offers the Gandhi Smarak Nidhi Fund Postgraduate Scholarships for students from any country of the world who wish to pursue their academic dreams at the university.
The Gandhi Smarak Nidhi fund will offer a limited number of partial scholarships tenable at the University of Nairobi, for Masters and Postgraduate Diploma studies during the 2011/2012 academic year.
Interested candidates, who meet the eligibility criteria as set out by the university, are invited to apply for the scholarship following the directives below.
Eligibility
Any admitted students from ANY country meeting the below requirements
Applicants must have been offered a place to study (a letter of offer) at the University of Nairobi for a Masters or Postgraduate Diploma programme (not PhD).
In addition, they must have attained at least an Upper Second Class Honours or its equivalent at Bachelors Level.

Method of Application
You may apply by filling in a formal application/re-application form available in Room A112 Administration Block, Main Campus after presenting a receipt of a non-refundable application fees of Kenya Shillings Five Hundred Only (KShs. 500.00).
This amount should be deposited into the University of Nairobi Account Number: 03-094-8245531, Barclays Bank of Kenya - Queensway House Branch at any Barclays Bank of Kenya branch. The bank deposit slip should then be taken to the Student Finance Office (Room G4), for receipting.
Applicants must attach to the completed form a letter of offer (Notice of eligibility) to study at the University of Nairobi for a Masters or Postgraduate Diploma programme (not PhD) and must have attained at least an Upper Second Class Honours or its equivalent at Bachelors Level.

The University of Nairobi (UoN) is a collegiate research university based in Nairobi. It is one of the largest universities in Kenya. Although its history as an educational institution dates back to 1956, it did not become an independent university until 1970. In this year, the University of East Africa was split into three independent universities: Makerere University in Uganda, the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, and the University of Nairobi.
