Scholarship Description
Wharton provides a broad range of fellowship opportunities for many exceptional students, thanks to the generosity of individuals, corporate and foundation donors, and the Wharton School.

One of these awards, the Emerging Economy MBA scholarships, are offered to students from emerging economies throughout the world.

These MBA scholarships help support the financial costs of the MBA for students from regions where repayment of large loans would be difficult.

Eligibility
First year students from developing countries admitted to Wharton’s MBA Program.

Criteria for selection of awards may include academic achievement, compelling leadership, exceptional professional development, and unique personal qualities.

The total award value is twenty thousand dollars ($20,000).

This fellowship include funding for both years of the Wharton MBA. Other awards are available in the second year of study for students in leadership roles and for teaching assistants.

Method of Application
All admitted students are considered for Wharton Fellowship support. If you think that Wharton is the right place for you, we encourage you to apply. A successful application combines substance, presentation, and good timing. It should tell your own story and make each element of your application as strong as possible.

Use the official online application system to apply and to check your status. The system walks you through the required steps, including electronically submitted transcripts, recommendations, and essays.

DEADLINE:
Deadline for scholarship applications coincides with the admissions deadline which is done in 3 rounds - October, January and March, every year. The current deadlines are 1 October 2013, 7 January 2014, and 27 March 2014 respectively.

To be considered for a round, you must submit a complete application by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) on the day of the deadline. Use the official online application system to apply and to check your status.

PLEASE NOTE:
There is no formal scholarship application, and notification of fellowship support is included with the admissions decision. Note carefully that IF you submit an application earlier in a round, you will be able to confirm receipt via the myWharton MBA, your Wharton online account.

Applications received after the deadline for Round 1 or 2 are rolled to the next round. No applications for Round 3 will be accepted after the deadline.
