Scholarship Description
The Vanguard Women in Information Technology Scholarship Program provides merit-based scholarships of up to $10,000 to female students entering their junior or senior year of college during the 2013 school year.
The program's goal is to remove financial barriers for female students who demonstrate academic excellence and are pursuing studies in computer science, computer engineering, web design or other IT-related disciplines.
Since introducing this program in 2004, Vanguard has awarded approximately $450,000 to deserving college students.
This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a division of Scholarship America. Scholarship Management Services is the American nation's largest designer and manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals.
Eligibility
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be a female college student entering their junior or senior year of college in fall of year of application.
- Be enrolled full-time in a four-year accredited college or university in the United States for the entire financial award academic year.
- Be pursuing a major in computer science, computer engineering, Web design, or another IT-related discipline.
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
Citizens of the United States; AND
Citizens of ALL other countries who have become lawful permanent U.S. residents

All accredited colleges or universities in the United States

Scholarship benefits
Awards of up to $10,000 are provided thus removing financial barriers to female students who demonstrate academic excellence in the above-listed and other IT-related disciplines.
The program’s goal is to remove financial barriers for female students pursuing professions in IT. Recipients will be required to report other awards granted and supply their school’s financial aid award letters.
Scholarship checks are sent directly to your home address, made payable to the school of your choice. The scholarship can be used for tuition, fees, books, and supplies.
