Scholarship Description
The National Research Foundation (NRF) on behalf of the South African Department of Science and Technology (DST) together with Emory University and SCYNEXIS in the United States of America (USA), and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in the United Kingdom (UK) are offering funding in 2011 to researchers based at South African institutions for post doctoral fellowships, research advancement training and short-term exchange visits in the field of Drug Discovery.

Successful applicants for the Postdoctoral Fellowship awards will be based at Emory University, SCYNEXIS or GlaxoSmithKline for the duration of the funded research activity. Successful applicants for the Research Advancement Training and Short-Term Exchange visits will be based at Emory University for the duration of the funded research activity.

The duration of the awards are as explicitly stated below under the heading - 'Sponsorship duration'. All awards must be taken up in the 2011 calendar year.

Eligibility
All researchers must be based at a South African institution.

Eligible groups
Citizens of ALL countries (but MUST be working in South Africa)

Participating Institutions
Emory University, SCYNEXIS, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK); AND
All recognized South African institutions of research and higher learning

Fields of study
Postdoctoral level research, trainings and classwork in the field of Drug Discovery
