Scholarship Description
The South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI) awards a Postgraduate Science Bursary for Australian Women studying Agriculture, fisheries, natural resource management or forestry science in Australia.
This annual SARDI Science Bursary was established in 1994 to commemorate the South Australian Women’s Suffrage Centenary (1894–1994), and awarded to a female graduate every year. It provides $1500 to a woman graduate to undertake post-graduate study in science at a tertiary institution in South Australia.
Applications are invited for the SARDI Science Bursary from honours graduates currently undertaking or wishing to undertake post-graduate studies in agriculture, fisheries or forestry science. Candidates will be considered on the merit of their research program and how it directly relates to the research divisions within SARDI.
Eligibility
To be eligible you must be:
- a female university graduate
- currently studying post-graduate qualifications
- in agriculture, fisheries, natural resource management or forestry science
- at a tertiary institution in South Australia.
Applying for the bursary
We will consider candidates:
- on the merit of their research program and how it relates to our research programs
- who are Australian citizens or have permanent resident status in Australia.

Scholarship benefits
We award $1,500 to the successful candidate.
Method of Application
Candidates must be Australian citizens or have permanent resident status in Australia. Applicants will be assessed by a selection panel and the successful applicant announced.
