Scholarship Description
The Carnegie Corporation in conjunction with the School of Economics at the University of Cape Town (UCT) is offering a number of Postgraduate Scholarships in Economics for qualified doctoral candidates.
The Scholarships are funded by the Carnegie Corporation and form part of a grant established to recruit and support individuals who have an intention to remain in academia. The intention is to develop a cohort of trainee academics and thereby contribute to growing the next generation of academics in order to strengthen higher education in Africa.
Eligibility
Applications are invited from candidates who have achieved a Master’s degree, who will register or are recently registered for the Doctoral degree in Economics.
Successful candidates will be required to:
- register for full-time Doctoral study in the School of Economics at the University of Cape Town;
- comply with the approved policies, procedures and practices for the postgraduate sector; and
- enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with her/his supervisor and adhere to the plans and agreements therein.
