Scholarship Description
The Southwest Branch of The International Dyslexia Association (SWIDA)offers scholarship to assist dyslexic individuals enrolled for a minimum of 9 hours in a certified career-technical program course of study.
Eligibility
Applicants must currently be attending school either within or outside of the Southwest Branch, and have a permanent residence in the Southwest Branch (New Mexico, and El Paso area).
Eligible groups
Citizens of ANY country but MUST fulfill all required eligibility (i.e. diagnosed with a Specific Learning Disability - Dyslexia)
Participating Institutions
All approved undergraduate level schools in the United States offering career-technical courses of study
Fields of study
ANY career-technical course of study leading to a certificate or an Associate of Applied Science Degree
Number of awards
Two (2) will be given every year
Sponsorship duration
Whole duration of the program study
Scholarship benefits
The Southwest Branch of IDA will award two $1,000 scholarships annually.

DEADLINES:
Applications must be received by the 15th of April of any year.
PLEASE NOTE:
Announcement of scholarship recipients will be made by May 31, 2011. The funds will go directly to the school for education related expenses for the 2011-2012 academic year.
All applicants MUST currently be enrolled in school for a minimum of 9 hours in a certified career-technical program course of study.
