Scholarship Description
Victoria University of Wellington is happy to offer the Victoria PhD Submission Scholarship to doctoral students from any country of the world who are either full-time or part-time scholars at the Victoria University of Wellington.
The Victoria PhD Submission Scholarship supports doctoral students in the final three months of their research. By facilitating full concentration upon their studies, it is meant to enable students already enrolled for several years to bring their research to a successful completion.
All eligible students as clearly outlined below are strongly encouraged to apply for the Victoria PhD Submission Scholarship. Students currently enrolled half-time, however, are particularly encouraged to apply.
Eligibility
All Victoria PhD candidates, full-time or half-time, who are not currently recipients of a Victoria PhD Scholarship, a Jacob Joseph Scholarship, or any other award paying a living stipend are eligible to apply.
Half-time candidates must change their enrolment to full-time and commit themselves exclusively to their research.
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, which shall include an assessment of the applicant's ability to complete the dissertation within the specified timeframe.

Sponsorship duration
The tenure of award is three months. Recipients are expected to submit within one month of the completion of the tenure.
Scholarship benefits
The value is set at $5,000 living stipend per three-month period of tenure, and an enrolment fee contribution of $1,000.
Method of Application
Ensure you apply in advance of the 3 months prior to submission of your thesis to ensure the full 3 months is awarded. These scholarships are not awarded retrospectively.

PLEASE NOTE:
No paid work may be undertaken during the tenure of this scholarship.
It is important that your supervisor supports the timeframe you put forward. If you submit, suspend or withdraw prior to the final payment you may be asked to reimburse the Scholarships Office for part of this award.
