Scholarship Description
If you are an international student, you may be eligible for country-specific scholarships if you are a national of or domiciled in some selected countries. Fees, funding and scholarship opportunities vary depending on your nationality and home country.
Bangor University Country Scholarships are open to students from the following countries (Nationality or Domicile): Bangladesh, Cameroon, Colombia, Egypt, Ghana, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam. If your country is NOT mentioned, see Bangor International Scholarships.
The university's Country Scholarships can be used for study across courses, subject areas and levels of study at Bangor, which include undergraduate, postgraduate taught masters and postgraduate research PhD studies.
Eligibility
For all applicants:
- These scholarships will be awarded instead of the ‘Bangor International Scholarship’ and NOT in addition to them.
- The Country Scholarship applies to students beginning their degree course in the 2018/19 academic year
- Fully Sponsored Students will not be entitled to the Country Scholarship
- The Country Scholarship are offered in the form of a reduction in tuition fee.
- The scholarship is not open to UK/EU applicants (unless they are paying international fees)

UNDERRADUATE & POSTGRADUATE:
All self-funding students from the above countries will receive a scholarship of £3,000 per year.
UNDERGRADUATE:
All outstanding international students from the above countries (e.g. A grade) will receive a scholarship of £4,000 per year.
POSTGRADUTE:
- Taught masters: All outstanding international students (e.g. 1st class, A grade) from the above countries will receive a scholarship of £5,000
- Research PhD: All outstanding international students (e.g. 1st class, A grade) will receive a scholarship of £4,000 per year

UNDERGRADUATES: You can apply to study at Bangor directly by using the online application form or through UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service.)
MASTERS: The University will accept applications throughout the year, but we would generally advise that you send in your application form by the end of June (for September intake) or the end of October (for January intake) to ensure that you have time to make any funding and/or accommodation arrangements, and for documents such as transcripts and references to be obtained if not submitted with the application. This will also give you more time to meet any conditions we may potentially attach to an offer (e.g. taking an IELTS Test to meet the English Language requirement).
PhD: You can apply at any time of the year. It is possible to start a PhD degree at any point in the year at most academic Schools, subject to agreement with the supervisor.

Deadline varies depending on whether you're an undergraduate (UCAS deadlines 15 January, 24 March and 15 October), taught masters (end of June for September intake or end of October for January intake) or PhD (rolling all year round)

Bangor University (Welsh: Prifysgol Bangor) is a Welsh university in the city of Bangor in the county of Gwynedd in North Wales. It received its Royal Charter in 1885 and was one of the founding member institutions of the former federal University of Wales. It was officially known for most of its history as the University College of North Wales (UCNW), and later as the University of Wales, Bangor (UWB). From September 2007 it became known as Bangor University, having become independent from the federal University of Wales.
