PhD Position in The Plasma Physics and Technology Programme

Course(s) Offered: Sciences
Course Level: Graduate (PhD)
Provider: Sino Danish Center for Education and Research, SDC,
Country to Study in: Denmark

Scholarship Description
Denmark Technical University (DTU) announces a PhD Position in the field of plasma Physics and Technology at Denmark Technical University, Denmark.

The plasma edge is the most important field of research towards a working fusion power plant. Characterizing the transport of heat, particles and momentum from the plasma towards the plasma facing material surfaces is important as the large energy fluxes pose extreme challenges to the materials used. Moreover the most important operational regime for a fusion power plant, the so-called H-mode, is based on a transport barrier established in the plasma edge, the understanding of which is still in its infancy.

The successful applicant is expected to spend significant time at the super conducting fusion experiment EAST and to actively participate in the experimental campaigns.
