Study Subject(s): Flutter of Wind Turbine Blades
Course Level: PhD
Scholarship Provider: DTU
Scholarship can be taken at: Denmark
Eligibility:
Candidates should have a master’s degree in engineering or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the master’s degree. Experience with wind energy or aerodynamics, as well as good communication skills are considered advantageous for obtaining the position.
Scholarship Open for International Students: No
Scholarship Description:
This projects aims at investigating the uncertainties in the present predictions of classical flutter of wind blades by implementation and use of improved aeroelastic engineering models (e.g. the near wake model) and full 3D CFD blade computations. The predictions are sought validated against experimental studies. The project may furthermore include flutter predictions for blades with various types of trailing edge flap systems.
How to Apply: 14 August 2011
