Scholarship Description
The Department of Law at Business and Social Sciences, Aarhus University, invites applications for a position as post-doctoral in Energy and Environmental Law.

The successful applicant will be working on the regulation of bio-energy in Europe and Denmark.

Eligibility
To be eligible:
  • Applicants must have a relevant PhD or similar academic qualifications before taking up the position.
  • It is expected that the applicant is able to teach in English.
  • Applicants must have completed their PhD before taking up the position.
  • A strong research potential and good teaching skills are required.
  • Candidates are expected to use app. 20 % on teaching and the rest on research and administrative duties in connection with the project.

Primarily, for Danish, or EU students; however, applicants from ANY country may be considered

Fields of study
The project will focus on the interplay of different regulatory instruments, such as EU support schemes and national level energy taxation principles, in the regulation of bio-energy.

It will outline the dynamics that create barriers to the wider uptake of sustainable bio-energy solutions, disentangle the interplay between subsidies, taxes and other regulatory instruments, at both EU and Member State level of particular relevance to Denmark, and it will analyse possible schemes for future treatment of bio-fuels and the use of biomass in combined heat and power production.

Scholarship benefits
Funding is provided for purposes of research project and living expenses. All applicants must understand that approximately twenty percent (20%) of their time would be expected to be spent on teaching and the rest on research and administrative duties in connection with the project.
