Scholarship Description
The Cox Legacy Scholars Program provides for hard-working Indiana residents who are academically strong, have demonstrated financial need, and have a commitment to employment in an effort to help fund or fully fund their education at Indiana University.

Students selected as Cox Legacy Scholars earn a scholarship for 75% of the total cost of attendance, as determined by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Applications for the Cox Legacy Scholarship are invited from suitable qualified students who are looking to go into their undergraduate studies at the Indiana University.

Eligibility
To be eligible for a Cox Legacy Scholarship, a student must be:
  • entering IU classified as an Indiana Resident
  • pursuing his or her first baccalaureate degree
  • a full-time student enrolled in at least 12 credit hours upon arrival and throughout your academic career at IU Bloomington. Please note: NCAA athletes are not eligible for the Cox Scholarship
  • earning a 3.0 cumulative grade point average or higher (4.0 scale) at time of admission
  • demonstrating financial need by filing or planning to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid form (FAFSA) by March 10 for the upcoming academic year
  • Willing to continue to work during their time at Indiana University

Scholarship benefits
Cox Legacy Scholars receive the following:
  • A scholarship and stipend package that – in conjunction with any other institutional funding they receive – will total the official cost of attendance at Indiana University Bloomington.*
*Students can receive gift aid from institutional funds (IU merit scholarships, grants, and fee remissions) totaling no more than the official cost of attendance for Indiana University Bloomington. Please note that Cox Scholarship amounts will be reduced to ensure that a student’s individual aid package does not exceed the official cost of attendance for IU Bloomington. External scholarships and entitlements from federal and state funds can be awarded regardless of total aid package.

Method of Application
Applications can be made both Online and by Post. To apply online for the Cox Legacy Scholars Program, you must complete all required steps by the March 1 deadline through the Cox Scholarship Application. To apply by post, you must post all required documentation on or before the March 1 deadline date, and have same date stamped on your post when received.
