Scholarship Description
The University of East London (UEL) is offering International Scholarships for candidates from outside UK/EU to study the Masters in NGO and Development Management Programme as full time students.

This established course, which has been running for ten years, examines the central issues facing developing countries in today’s globalised world, giving you the skills for a job in development and the wider sectors. The subject area is Politics and International Development.

At UEL, we understand that studying in another country is a big financial commitment. If you apply early for an postgraduate course, you may be entitled to a scholarship of up to £4,000. International scholarships at UEL cover part of the cost of the course fees.

Eligibility
Entry requirements:
  1. Degree: Minimum 2.2 Honours in a Relevant Subject. We would normally expect you to have Grade C in GCSE English and Maths. 
  2. INTERNATIONAL: We accept a range of qualifications from across the world. Please see our country pages for information on specific entry requirements for your country here.
The University will award scholarships/discounts (of up to £3000) to our international self-funded students paying full overseas fees.

Our aim is to make you an informed and critical development practitioner. You will be equipped with all the practical skills that are demanded by development agencies. You will also gain insight across the wider picture, understanding how developing countries can progress and how the poor can be mobilised to escape from the poverty trap.

The course also explores how NGOs can play a key role in promoting social and economic progress and you will develop the ability to identify, design and implement programmes with a view to engaging with and enhancing the situation of the poor.

Scholarship benefits
If you apply early for an postgraduate course, you may be entitled to a scholarship of up to £4,000. In addition to this, UEL offers a five per cent early payment discount and 15 per cent alumni discount.

The Student Money Advice and Rights Team (SMART) also run an Emergency International Fund to assist international students in hardship.

Method of Application
UEL will automatically consider any full fee paying international applicant that has made an application to the University. Suitably qualified applicants will receive an offer of a place with a scholarship from the University. Applicants must, therefore, make an application to UEL for the MSc NGO and Development Management Programme before they can receive an offer for scholarship.
