Scholarship Description
ABC Transport Plc is offering a number of University Scholarship Awards to suitably qualified Nigerian students. Applications for the scholarship award are invited from full-time FIRST YEAR (100 LEVEL) degree students of the under-listed courses, in Nigerian universities:
- Engineering,
- Transport management,
- Purchasing/Supply,
- Business Administration,
- Accountancy,
- Materials management,
- Human resources,
- Public Administration,
- Mass communication,
- Computer science.
Applicants must be full time YEAR ONE (100 LEVEL) students of the above-listed courses in any of the Nigerian universities.
Requirements (Method of Application)
Interested candidates should submit their applications (along with photocopies of their WAEC or its equivalent, Birth Certificate or a Sworn Affidavit, Admission Letter and Two passport Photographs) stating the following information on an A4 sized paper:
- Surname,
- First Name,
- Middle Name,
- Title (Mr/Mrs/Miss),
- Date of Birth,
- Institution,
- Course of Study,
- Current Level,
- Matric Number,
- Year of Admission,
- Duration of Course,
- Mode of Entry,
- JAMB Score,
- JAMB Registration Number,
- O'Level Results (6 subjects),
- Phone Number,
- State of Origin,
- Local Government Area,
- Residential Address.
All applications in the format above should be sent to:

The closing date for receipt of applications is 31st January, 2012
Further Requirements
Short-listed candidates will be required to present ORIGINALS of the following documents, if they pass the qualifying tests and are invited for the interview:
- WAEC or its equivalent,
- Evidence of admission into a Nigerian university,
- Evidence of current year of study,
- Details of Educational history - schools attended with dates and certificates obtained,
- State of Origin obtained from the appropriate Local Government Area and duly signed by the Chairman or Secretary,
- Valid university Identity Card.

Open to International Applicants: No (ONLY Nigerian students)

However, for the benefit of readers who are polytechnic or COE students, i have contacted the ABC Transport Scholarship Committee on this issue, and currently awaiting their response. ReplyDelete@anonymous, ABC Transport Company has clearly listed the courses this scholarship is intended for; but rather unfortunately medicine isn't one of them. H/v you may still take the chance and apply because you actually lose nothing trying out your luck here. But please do bear in mind that your application may most likely NOT be considered.

ReplyDeleteAccording to ABC Transport, this scholarship is ONLY for "...full-time 100 level undergraduates in Nigerian universities." So the answer to your question is NO. We're still awaiting confirmation from ABC Transport, to ascertain if Polytechnic and COE students, may also be included and benefit by applying to the scholarship. Hope this helps

@Saint Jude, the following are needed for the scholarship:
ReplyDelete1. A4 sized paper. Type all your information (see 'Requirement' above) on an A4 sized paper;
2. Documents. In addition to the information on the A4 sized paper, include photocopies of your WAEC or its equivalent, Birth Certificate or a Sworn Affidavit, Admission Letter and Two passport Photographs;
3. Submission. With all i mentioned in above, send to the Scholarship Committee (see 'Submission of Applications' above).

ReplyDeletehi @Anonymous, about expecting the result, ABC Transport will contact you IF you are successfully shortlisted via an SMS b4 the end of February (see above).
ReplyDeleteAbout the matric number issue, i really dont know. But i believe that bcos of the large number of students that will apply, the ABC Scholarship committee will be strict in shortlisting candidates based ONLY on the eligibility criteria and requirements they have listed out. If you're in Owerri (or any other town with ABC terminal), you may do well to visit them to ask directly. Goodluck!

ReplyDeleteHi @Annonymous, as i have pointed out severally, this site is not directly affiliated with ABC Transport. We only supply students with timely information. You may NEED to visit any ABC Transport Bus Terminal closest to where you live to find out.
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, i believe that as a Yr 1 student, you should expect questions on Maths, English and related subjects at your level.
Remember that if you have been sent an SMS text, it means you've been short-listed and you'll NEED to present ORIGINALS of your documents. So keep them handy. Best of luck!

Up 2 now I saw nothing like invitation 4 d test, do this mean I wasnt shortlisted?

ReplyDeletehi @annonymous, the main ABC Transport branch to visit wld naturally be their main office in Owerri, Imo state. However, if this is far from you ie you live in another state, you may want to start with the one nearest to wherever you reside
