Scholarship Description
Brunel Law School is pleased to announce the international scholarship programme for 2012. The aim of the scholarship programme is to provide financial support to students who have demonstrated exceptional achievements academically, professionally or through community service.
Eligibility
The scholarship scheme is open to any international fee paying student who has applied for a full time LLB, CPE/Graduate Diploma in Law or LLM course at Brunel Law School, starting in September 2012.
Undergraduate:
In order to apply for the Brunel Law School international scholarships, applicants must:
- Have applied for a full time undergraduate course for first year entry in the 2012/13 academic year at Brunel Law School and have been made a conditional or unconditional offer of a place on the course.
- Be classed as an international fee paying applicant with a predicted AAA, 35 IB or have achieved the equivalent grades in their national curriculum. –or-
- Be classified as an EU student who has studied their national curriculum, achieving a predicted score equivalent to AAA.
- Not be a current Brunel student.
In order to apply for the Brunel Law School international scholarships, applicants must:
- Have been made a conditional or unconditional offer for a full time LLM course for the 2012/13 academic year at Brunel Law School.
- Be classed as an international fee paying applicant (Home/ EU students are not eligible).
- Undergraduate: 3 A-levels with grades AAA or above or the equivalent in applicant’s national curriculum, or an International Baccalaureate Diploma with 35 points or above.
- Exceptionally outstanding academic performance, achieving a First-class honours degree or applicant’s national curriculum equivalent and meet our English language entry requirements of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
- Applicant meets minimum entry requirement for course, including the English language requirements and can demonstrate exceptional professional achievements i.e. management or significant experience in an NGO, public or private sector enterprise; experience as a judge or magistrate, or similar qualifications.

Scholarship benefits
There are ten £3000 Undergraduate scholarships and five £2000 Postgraduate (LLM/ CPE) scholarships available for 2012/13.
Method of Application
Applications should be made electronically via the Brunel Law School website.
When answering the questions, references can be made to activities, achievements and personal qualities which are considered particularly relevant to your application. Additional space is provided on the application form for uploading any relevant documents. Applicants applying on the basis of exceptional work experience should upload a CV.
Your responses along with your course application and grades, will be the main focus of the Award Panel’s deliberations and should therefore be written carefully and spell-checked.
Make sure that your application is complete before you submit it. We will not accept incomplete applications and you cannot provide additional information once your application is submitted. You may only apply once.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
- Scholarships are awarded for the entry year 2012/13 only and will not be deferred to later years of entry. All awards are offered as a single contribution of £3000 (undergraduate) and £2000 (postgraduate) towards tuition fees for Brunel Law School courses for the entry year 2012/13 and will not be continued in subsequent years of a student’s academic programme.
- Applications received after the closing date will not be considered. The award panel will meet in July 2012 to consider scholarship awards. Decisions will be made in June 2012 and successful applicants will be informed in the first instance by email.
- Applicants will be required to respond by email to accept the offer no later than 30th July 2012. A formal scholarship offer letter will then be issued and dispatched by post. All decisions will be made by the Brunel Law School Scholarship Panel. All decisions are final and no correspondence can be entered into.
