Scholarship Description
As part of Google’s ongoing commitment to supporting students in their education and studies, Google offers challenges and competitions that encourage students to apply their skills in fun and rewarding ways.

The Google Student Ambassador (GSA) Program is an opportunity for students to act as liaisons between Google and their universities.

These ambassadors: Learn about innovative Google products and programs; Plan and host fun events on campus; Act as a campus contact for Google teams AND Help Google better understand each university’s culture.

Eligibility
Ambassadors are thrilled by new technology, enthusiastic about Google, and involved in their school communities.

Eligible groups
Any student from any nationality may apply

Participating Institutions
Any college or university in Europe, Middle East or Africa (EMEA)

Fields of study
All fields can apply including technical and non-technical studies. Ambassadors have majors from Computer Science, to Anthropology, to Business, to Zoology!

Number of awards
Not specified by Google; however in the past, 160 student Ambassadors were selected within one year

Scholarship duration
The program is one school year in length.

Scholarship benefits
Google Ambassadors have the opportunity to enhance their professional development, leadership, and communication skills, and access to a unique network of Google Ambassadors across EMEA. Plus, there’s swag!

With the skills developed during their tenure, a number of GSAs have even gone on to start their own businesses

Method of Application
If you would like to apply to become Google's Student Ambassador (GSA) at your school, then you are in the right place!

Eligible students from all backgrounds should fill out this online form carefully for the 2013 program and do not submit more than once. You will need between 45 minutes and an hour to complete the form if you have the following documents ready:
  • Certified Proof of Enrollment for the next academic year that starts in 2013 (mandatory)
  • Recommendation letter from 1 or 2 professors, lecturers, tutors, former GSAs, employers or the like (optional)

DEADLINE:
Submission deadline for the 2013 application is April 11, 2013. However, note that the application timing varies by region.
