Scholarship Description
Every year London Metropolitan University invests over £850,000 in its scholarship programme to help academically excellent students fund their education. Other available scholarships at LMU: Undergraduate scholarships, and Merit scholarships. Also see other scholarship lists.
Eligibility
Students who have an unconditional offer on one of our taught Masters courses can apply for the following scholarships:
- BBC World Service/London Met Scholarship (Students from Central Asia)
- Dr Muhammad Shahidullah Scholarship (Bangladeshi Students)
- Dr. Murtala Muhammed Postgraduate Scholarship (Nigerian Students)
- Forward China Scholarship (Chinese Students)
- International Students House/London Met Scholarships (Students from various countries)
- London Met Postgraduate Scholarship (All International, non-EU Students)
- Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship (Indian Students)
- Professor Hessaby Scholarship (Iranian Students)
- Tibetan Scholarships (Tibetan Students)
The scholarship panel decides who will be awarded a scholarship based on the application submitted. The decisions are based on, as applicable, academic achievements, references, evidence of voluntary work done, etc. The scholarship panel decisions are final.

The period of time the scholarship and/or accommodation (where applicable, i.e. via ISH/London Met) is offered for is clearly stated and not extendable.
Scholarship benefits
The scholarship is for the ONE named person and London Met will not be responsible for a scholar's family members/spouse/children, etc. and if a scholar wishes to have a family member accompany him/her, they need to be aware that the University does not recommend this as the scholar, not the University, will be solely responsible and they will be required to pay for the additional family member/s, not London Met who accepts no liability.
Students are allowed to work part-time, in accordance with their visa conditions, to help support themselves during their studies. Method of Application
Please remember that you can apply for more than one scholarship using only one application form, however you have to note for which scholarships you are applying.
How to apply:
Applicants should complete and submit an application as soon as possible using either:
the online scholarship e-application form.
Or you may download, print out and complete the Word document scholarship application form. Once completed, please post to the Scholarships office address (see below).
- We can not accept any faxed or emailed scholarship application forms (if not done via the online scholarship application form process).
- Please ensure you post your application in ample time to meet the deadline as any applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
- Please send all completed scholarship applications together with all accompanying documentation (originals will NOT be returned so send good photocopies) and references to:

- 31 May (September class) - all scholarships;
