Scholarship Description
INSEAD, in partnership with Freddy Salem (an INSEAD MBA graduate of '66), offers the INSEAD Freddy Salem Scholarship(s) to West African students, preferably students from Nigeria, Ghana, Togo and Benin.
A successful entrepreneur since he graduated from INSEAD, Freddy Salem (MBA '66) has run several private businesses in West Africa, Russia and the US. Keen to foster economic development in West Africa, Freddy Salem supports education initiatives that develop business talent for the region.
In awarding these scholarships, INSEAD shall particularly seek candidates from Nigeria, Ghana, Togo and Benin.
Eligibility
Candidates must be nationals from a West Africa country (preferably Nigeria, Ghana, Togo and Benin) and will have spent most of their lives and received most or part of their education in Africa. Preference will be given to candidates who require proven financial assistance.
Selection Criteria:
Candidates for the INSEAD scholarships will need to demonstrate: (a) academic achievement and promise (b) aptitude for business and financial management, and (c) a strong likelihood of spending the better part of their working careers in West Africa.

The annual deadline date for the July Class is 13 February (starts in September) AND that for the December Class is 22 August (starts in January). These are offered every year.
