Scholarship Description
The Institute for Transport Studies (ITS), University of Leeds, is offering a number of tuition fee reduction scholarships, each worth up to £5000, to provide development opportunities to international students of outstanding ability, achievement and potential.

You can apply for the Transport Masters International Excellence Scholarships, if you’re an international fee rated applicant who has been offered a place on any masters degree course within Transport Studies (excluding MSc Sustainable Cities), and can demonstrate the academic criteria listed below.

The scholarships form part of the ITS mission to advance the understanding of transport globally via the development of skills and best practice. ITS invites applications from suitably qualified applicants worldwide for the Transport Masters International Scholarships 2018-19.

University of Leeds Transport Scholarships

Eligibility
Any international applicant who has been offered a place on any of the masters degree courses within Transport Studies, and who demonstrates academic excellence (2.1+ or equivalent), professional experience and/or voluntary experience can apply for this scholarship.

Selection criteria:
You must be self-funding (or partially funded), full time, classified as international for tuition fee purposes and not in receipt of any other Institute for Transport Studies award.

Scholarship applications can be made for any of the masters degree courses within Transport Studies (excluding MSc Sustainable Cities)

Number of awards
Six scholarships will be granted for September 2018-19 entry

Sponsorship duration
This award will only apply to a one year full-time Master’s Degree Programme offered at the ITS. The academic progress of scholarship recipients will be subject to on-going review - ITS reserves the right to withdraw funding at the end of either semester should academic performance be unsatisfactory

Scholarship benefits
They are PARTIAL scholarships providing tuition fee reduction for the 2018-19 academic year (equivalent to the value of £5,000 for international students)

Method of Application
Scholarship applicants must first have received an offer (conditional or unconditional) of an academic place for a Masters degree programme at the Institute for Transport Studies. Applicants should submit the ITS scholarship form, including a statement of 500 words on how a Masters degree would enable them to make a difference to transportation (e.g in their country, region or area) and specifically to tackle a significant problem or issue. Nominees for scholarship awards are selected based on academic merit and the information provided in their application form.

Shortlisted applicants will be notified by email within 4 weeks of the application deadline.

Preference will be given to applicants who would otherwise be precluded from undertaking a Masters programme; ITS reserves the right not to make scholarship awards or to offer a fee waiver at a lower amount; the scholarship recipients will be expected to support the future development and promotion of the scholarships and ITS, by participating in ITS marketing activities
