Scholarship Description
The International Development Office at Swansea University in the UK is offering a number of International Excellence Scholarships for undergraduate Nigerian and postgraduate Nigerian or Ghanaian students for the 2015/2016 academic year.

They are the Nigeria Undergraduate Excellence Scholarships AND the Nigeria and Ghana International Excellence Scholarships (postgraduate). These awards are funded by the International Development Office at Swansea University.

Eligible undergraduate and graduate students from any of these countries are invited to apply for one of the International Excellence Scholarships, as outlined below. See Swansea University International Excellence Scholarships for ALL Students .

The International Development Office at Swansea University in the UK is offering a number of International Excellence Scholarships for undergraduate Nigerian and postgraduate Nigerian or Ghanaian students

Eligibility
You can apply for the International Excellence Scholarships for Undergraduates if you:
  • are a national of (or permanently domiciled in) Nigeria
  • are classed as an overseas student for fee purpose
  • are enrolling on a course at Swansea University for the first time in September 2015. (Students applying for second year entry and foundation level students are not eligible to apply) OR have already submitted your application and hold an offer to study at Swansea University in September 2015
You can apply for the International Excellence Scholarships for Postgraduates if you:
  • are a national of (or permanently domiciled in) Nigeria or Ghana
  • are classed as an overseas student for fee purpose
  • are enrolling on a postgraduate course at Swansea University for the first time in September 2015 OR have already submitted your application and hold an offer to study at Swansea University in September 2015

Only citizens of Nigeria and Ghana can apply

Whole duration of course, however, this is subject to your performance (see below)

Scholarship benefits
The International Development Office is offering:
  • a number of £4000 (+£2000*) scholarships for undergraduate Nigerians.
    *If you receive £4,000 in your first year (2015) you will be awarded £2,000 in your second year conditional on you passing the first year with an overall average of 65%.
  • a number of postgraduate scholarships worth £4000 for students from Nigeria or Ghana.
Method of Application
Please download and complete the "Scholarship Form 2014" from the official website (link to it is below) and return along with your education transcripts to: ido@swansea.ac.uk.

Applicants must have completed an application for a place to study at Swansea University which must have been received by the Admissions Office by the deadline date below.

The deadline for scholarship applications is 1st July 2015

PLEASE NOTE:
Please note that students applying for MPhil or PhD are not eligible to apply for the PG Excellence Scholarships and students progressing from ICWS and students currently studying at Swansea are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
