Scholarship Description
Roskilde University welcomes over 300 new international students each year, creating an exciting and international atmosphere for students and staff.
A limited number of Danish state tuition fee waivers and scholarships are offered to highly talented students at graduate level, who come from countries outside of the EU/EEA and need a residence permit to study at Roskilde University.
Certain types of Danish residence permits exempt non-EU/EEA citizens from paying tuition fees at Danish schools.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for a tuition fee waiver and scholarship you must be:
- A graduate applicant who come from countries outside of the EU/EEA and need a residence permit to study at Roskilde University.
- A graduate applicant who is required to pay a tuition fee at the university.
- A graduate applicant holding a bachelor degree from Roskilde University or a graduate applicant from other universities.
Roskilde University gives priority to applicants who have shown an excellent academic performance.
You are not eligible for a tuition fee waiver and scholarship if you are:
- An exchange student including an Erasmus Mundus student.
- A student who is entitled to the Danish State Education Grant (SU) or other public support in Denmark. Please note that it is not possible to choose not to receive SU in order to receive a tuition fee waiver.
- A student who receives a scholarship from their home country.

Sponsorship duration
The tuition fee waiver and scholarship has a maximum length of 22 months for programmes that start in September and a maximum length of 24 months for programmes that start in February. Tuition fee waiver students must follow the study plan and not be delayed in their studies in order to maintain the tuition waiver.
NOTE: From 2016, the tuition fee waivers and scholarships are only distributed once a year for the September entry.
Scholarship benefits
The value of the award is the program tuition fee waiver and approximately DKK 7,800 per month to cover living expenses in Denmark.

Method of Application
If you wish to be considered for a tuition fee waiver and/or scholarship, you must upload a motivational letter and CV outlining your academic and occupational background to your online application for admission to the master programmes within the application deadline dates. If you are already a student at Roskilde, you apply by sending an e-mail with a motivational letter and CV outlining your academic and occupational background to fulldegree(at)ruc.dk at the latest by the application deadline for the master programmes.

DEADLINES:
You must apply for admission and be registered as an active student no later than February 1st for the September entry and September 1st for the February entry. Note: The tuition fee waivers and scholarships are NOW only distributed once a year for the September entry.

The university reserves the right to decide in each admission round that only applicants for specific master programmes are considered for a tuition fee waivers and scholarships.
