Scholarship Description
The Fondazione Edu is a family foundation specializing in higher education in Africa, with the aim to realize the desire of its founders to promote young people’s access to higher education in developing countries namely Africa.
Fondazione Edu Scholarships offers African students the opportunity to access higher education in their country of origin. It not only supports individual growth paths, but also the creation of professionalism that can, in the long run, contribute to sustainable socio-economic development.
The Students Financial Aid Office (SFAO) at the University of Ghana (UG-SFAO) is accepting applications for the award of the 2018 /2019 Fondazione Edu scholarship scheme for Level 100 students from areas of need.
Eligibility
You are eligible to apply if in addition to UG-SFAO eligibility requirements you:
- Are a Level 100 student.
- Obtained an aggregate of 14 or better at the WASSCE.
- Are able to demonstrate limited family income and/or insufficient funds to cover most or all educational related expenses.
- Have the will to succeed (determination, perseverance and success in other pursuits).
- are a continuing science student with CGPA 3.75 and above (very limited slots)
Scholarship is awarded and renewed every year as long as excellent academic standards of at least a B average of 3.00 CGPA continue to be met and financial need is demonstrated.

Method of Application
Interested applicants need to complete an application form, and submit it along with requested supporting documents. Download and Submit a completed FE- SFAO Form AF Scholarship Application (from the official website) and the required essays, a copy of your academic records (WASSCE grades), letters of recommendation and supporting need documents.

Fondazione Edu is an Italian family Foundation with the express objective of promoting young people’s access to higher education in Africa. It was founded in 2005. The activities of the Fondazione Edu are designed to foster capacity building in Africa and result in the provision of scholarships for university studies that cover the entire cost of training and the costs associated with it.
The University of Ghana is the oldest and largest of the thirteen Ghanaian universities and tertiary institutions. It was founded in 1948 as the University College of the Gold Coast, and was originally an affiliate college of the University of London, which supervised its academic programmes and awarded degrees. It gained full university status in 1961 and is mainly based at Legon. The medical school is in Korle Bu, with a teaching hospital and secondary campus in the city of Accra.
