Scholarship Description
Global Health Corps (GHC) is offering its Global Health Corps Fellowships as year-long paid placements with partner organizations working to address health inequity across a range of issue areas.

A GHC fellowship is so much more than a global health job. It’s a year that will catalyze your personal and professional growth as a leader, placing you within a global and diverse network of bright, young, and committed health equity champions. It is – we hope – the beginning of the rest of your career working to transform health systems to deliver for all.

Fellowship placements are offered to qualified applicants from any country worldwide. Placement of successful fellows will be in the United States and countries of both East and Southern Africa (Burundi, Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, and Zambia). Eligibility
By the start of the fellowship on June 24, 2018, fellows must:
  • Be 30 years or younger.
  • Hold a bachelor’s or undergraduate university degree.
  • Be proficient in English.
Selection criteria:
The fellowship targets high potential young leaders. It is looking for a diverse group of emerging leaders from every sector and professional background who bring the skills necessary to fill critical health systems gaps and who embody our key leadership practices:

Participating Institutions
GHC partner organizations on the front lines of health equity in the USA and participating African countries. GHC currently partners with placement organizations in Burundi, Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, the United States, and Zambia.

Research areas
Through a comprehensive leadership and management training curriculum, GHC brings fellows together five times a year to foster systems-thinking, strong management, and key leadership practices. Fellows work in a range of critical roles within the partner organizations, addressing health inequity across a range of issue areas, and developing as leaders and making an impact every day.

Sponsorship duration
This is for one year

Scholarship benefits
Details vary depending on fellowship placement and location, but fellows receive the additional following support during the year:
  • Monthly living and utilities stipend
  • Housing
  • Health insurance
  • Professional development grant of $600 and completion award of $1500
  • Travel coverage to and from placement site, all trainings, and retreats
