Scholarship Description
Loughborough University is delighted to offer Undergraduate Scholarships to international undergraduate students wishing to study at the university.
Over 100 scholarships will be available for entry in 2016 to new self-financing full-time students eligible to pay international fees.
The Loughborough University International Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of outstanding academic achievement and potential. Each scholarship will be for the first year of study only.
Eligibility
Scholarships are only available to students who are self-funding, and not in receipt of any other University award or sponsorship by an external body.

What is outstanding academic achievement and potential?
Different courses will have varying criteria for awarding these Scholarships. However, in general, students will be expected to have achieved, or be predicted to achieve the equivalent of A*AA to AAA in three full A-levels. Students other international qualifications will also be considered and an equivalent level of achievement will be required.
Only applicants selecting the Loughborough University offer as their firm (first) choice through UCAS will be eligible for these Scholarships.

Scholarship benefits
These scholarships will be to the value of 25% of the programme tuition fee and that value will be credited to the student’s tuition fee account.
Method of Application
All applications for full-time undergraduate programmes should be made through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). International undergraduate applicants will automatically be considered for a Loughborough University International Scholarship. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of outstanding academic achievement and potential. There is no separate scholarship application process.

DEADLINES:
UCAS deadlines are 15 October 2015, 15 January 2016 (for majority of courses), and 24 March 2016 (for some art and design courses). All applications received after 30 June are entered into Clearing. All dates are at 18:00 (UK time). For more details, see the UCAS Timetable page.
PLEASE NOTE:
No preference will be given to applications received early (before the main UCAS deadline). Late applications will be considered at the individual School or Department’s discretion, and appropriate offers made if places are still available.
Normally students will be advised if they are being awarded a scholarship with their offer of a place, though in some circumstances the scholarship offer may be sent later. Any award made to an applicant holding a conditional offer will be subject to the conditions being met in full.
Loughborough University is a public research university located in the market town of Loughborough, Leicestershire, in the East Midlands of England.
It has been a university since 1966, but the institution dates back to 1909, when the then Loughborough Technical Institute began with a focus on skills and knowledge which would be directly applicable in the wider world. Loughborough ranks particularly highly for engineering and technology and is noted for its sports-related courses and achievements.
