Scholarship Description
The university of Strathclyde, a leading technological University in the UK, is offering the West Africa Excellence Scholarship in Medicinal Chemistry to students from countries in the West African sub-region who wish to study at the university.

Successful applicants of this scholarship award will be eligible West African students who intend to go in for a postgraduate taught masters level of study and whose mode of study must be Full Time. Specifically, the scholarship is intended for applicants to the MSc Medicinal Chemistry.

This partial tuition scholarship award by the Department of Chemistry is offered to attract the best students from countries in West Africa to its innovative masters courses.

University of Strathclyde West Africa Excellence Scholarship in Medicinal Chemistry

Eligibility
Applications for scholarships are open to students who meet the following criteria:
  • the student must be paying full international fees
  • the student must be self-funded ie not sponsored by Government, employer or educational institution
  • the student cannot be in receipt of this scholarship and another University of Strathclyde scholarship
  • the student must have accepted a conditional offer for a full time Postgraduate Masters in the Faculty of Science by 20 May 2016
  • the student must be able to demonstrate academic excellence based on their previous study
  • the student must provide evidence of a desire to study at the University of Strathclyde
Please note this scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis

Gambia, The, Togo, Benin, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Cape Verde, Senegal, Mali, Mauritania, Sao Tome and Principe, Niger, Nigeria, Burkina [Burkina Faso], Sierra Leone, St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha, Ivory Coast [Côte D'ivoire]

Applications for Session 2016/2017 (September 2016 entry) has been on since 18 November 2015. The deadline for submission of completed applications is 20 May 2016.

Applicants will be informed whether their application has been successful by 31 May 2016.

Only students who meet the criteria will be eligible to apply. Ensure your application is complete as incomplete applications will not be considered. Allocation of an Excellence Award can only be given to candidates who have not already accepted another scholarship through the University.
