Scholarship Description
The Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia offers the QUT Excellence Top-Up Scholarship for both prospective international and domestic research students intending to study at the university.

QUT Excellence Top-Up Scholarships are awarded to exceptional candidates in conjunction with an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) or QUT Postgraduate Research Award (QUTPRA).

This top up scholarship has replaced the QUT Vice-Chancellor's (VC) Top-Up Scholarship and the QUT Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Commercialisation) (DVC) Top-Up Scholarship.

QUT Excellence Top-Up Scholarship

Eligibility
This scholarship is available to both domestic Australian and international students from other countries. Applicants must be intending Postgraduate research (Masters and PhD) students.

You must:
  • have Honours First Class (or equivalent)
  • be accepted into a PhD, masters by research or professional doctorate
  • be ranked in the top 30 domestic Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) recipients or international QUT Postgraduate Research Award (QUTPRA) recipients in the annual scholarship round.
QUT Excellence Top-Up Scholarships are only awarded in conjunction with an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) or QUT Postgraduate Research Award (QUTPRA). If you already hold one of these scholarships from a previous scholarship round you are not eligible to apply again.

Scholarship benefits
You'll receive a top-up scholarship to the value of $7,000 each year to supplement your Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) or QUT Postgraduate Research Award (QUTPRA).

Method of Application
You have to be applying for a QUT course to apply for this scholarship. You must apply for admission to QUT during the annual scholarship round, and also indicate on your application that you wish to be considered for a scholarship.

DEADLINES:
The annual scholarship round closes in September each year. Scholarship applications for the 2016/2017 session open 1 September 2016, and close 30 September 2016.
