Scholarship Description
Conestoga has more than 400 awards, bursaries, scholarships and academic grants available to Conestoga students. These funds are made available to students through the partnerships Conestoga has established with local business and industry leaders.

Conestoga students are considered for all awards, scholarships and bursaries for which they qualify. International students may complete the application and will be considered for a limited number of awards and scholarships.

Before you qualify to apply for a scholarship or award, you must apply to a full-time diploma or degree program and meet the academic requirements for the program of study. Conestoga College reserves the right to limit the number and value of scholarships available.

General Eligibility
All applicants must be registered as an international student, be a citizen of a country other than Canada and hold a valid study permit for the period of study. All scholarships are applied to the student's tuition account. Only successful candidates will be notified of results. The International Office Selection Committee will make all final selections.

The Student Awards

1). The CSI International Student Service Award
Four awards of $1,000 are available to international students at Conestoga College who are actively involved and volunteer with the International Education Department. This award will be given to one or two current international students. Recipients must have a minimum grade average of 75 per cent and demonstrate financial need. Recipients must also be actively involved and volunteer with the International Education Department.

Eligibility:
The applicant must:
  • be an international student paying full-time international student tuition fees and CSI fees
  • have college involvement within the International Education Department
  • submit one reference supporting involvement or volunteer work within the International Education Department
  • be registered at Conestoga for the Winter semester
  • have a minimum academic average of 75 percent or 3.5 GPA
  • complete the online General Award Application through the Student Portal, including the Study Period Budget and Financial Need essay.
Applicants who have received a CSI International Student Service Award (ISSA) in any year may be considered for an award in a subsequent year, provided they are able to demonstrate meaningful involvement or volunteer contributions separate and distinct from those which earned their previous award.

Award winners will be invited to attend CSI's annual award banquet in April to be recognized and receive their framed award certificate.

2). The CSI International Academic Excellence Award 
CSI is offering up to 10 awards of $500 available to international students at Conestoga College who are actively involved and volunteer with the International Education Department. Recipients must have a minimum grade average of 75 percent and demonstrate financial need. Recipients must also be actively involved and volunteer with the International Education Department.

Eligibility:
The applicant must:
  • be an international student paying full-time international student tuition fees and CSI fees
  • be registered in a diploma or degree program
  • be registered at Conestoga for the Winter semester
  • be one of ten students with the highest grade point average above 85 percent. In case of a tie preference will go to students with college involvement
  • complete the online General Award Application through the Student Portal, including the Study Period Budget and Financial Need essay.
Award winners will be invited to attend CSI's annual award banquet in April to be recognized and receive their framed award certificate.

3). The CSI International Athletic Achievement Award
Two awards of $500 are available to international students at Conestoga College. Recipients must have a minimum grade average of 75 percent and be actively involved within athletics, a varsity team or intermural sports.

Eligibility:
The applicant must:
  • be an international student paying full-time international student tuition fees and CSI fees
  • have college involvement within athletics, a varsity team or intermural sports
  • submit one reference supporting your athletic involvement
  • Registered at Conestoga for the Winter semester
  • have a minimum academic average of 75 percent or 3.5 GPA
  • demonstrate financial need
  • complete the online General Award Application through the Student Portal, including the Study Period Budget and Financial Need essay.
Award winners will be invited to attend CSI's annual award banquet in April to be recognized and receive their framed award certificate.

4). The CSI International Community Achievement Award
Two awards of $2,500 are available to international students at Conestoga College who have demonstrated leadership in one or more of the following areas: community service, international engagement, intercultural understanding, and promotion of diversity, intellectual pursuits, and artistic or athletic endeavors.

Eligibility:
The applicant must:
  • be an international student paying full-time international student tuition fees and CSI fees
  • submit a maximum 1000 word essay demonstrating leadership in one or more of the following areas; community service, international engagement, intercultural understanding, promotion of diversity, intellectual pursuits, and artistic or athletic endeavors
  • submit two reference letters; at least one reference must be a Conestoga faculty or staff member, and the second reference may on-campus or off-campus employer or supervisor with whom you volunteer or work with
  • be registered at Conestoga for the Winter semester.
  • have a minumum academic average of 75 percent or 3.5 GPA
  • complete the online General Award Application through the Student Portal.
Applicants who have received a CSI International Community Achievement Award (ICAA) in any year may be considered for an award in a subsequent year, provided they are able to demonstrate meaningful leadership and service contributions in activities or programs separate and distinct from those which earned their previous award

Award winners will be invited to attend CSI's annual award banquet in April to be recognized and receive their framed award certificate.

5). Other Awards
The Narhari Sharma Memorial Award Nomination
Mr. Narhari Sharma was a symbol of love, wisdom, strength, vision, courage and selflessness. He was gentle soul who lived to help others; had an amazing thought process and was a true leader. Education and equality were two of his key values. This award was created to recognize a student who demonstrates the following qualities:

  • Wisdom, strength, vision, courage and selflessness
  • True leadership through innovation
  • Going out of his/her way to help others achieve their goals

Method of Application
Paper applications will no longer be accepted. You must complete and submit the online General Application if you wish to be considered for an award, scholarship or bursary for which you meet criteria. To apply for student awards:
  1. Complete the General Award Application including the Study Period Budget and Financial Need essay
  2. Submit reference letters as required in the award description, indicating which award(s) for which you want consideration

DEADLINES:
Submit your completed application by August 30th deadline each year. We are not currently accepting applications. We will re-open the portal to new applications in the near future.
