Scholarship Description
Each year the University of East Anglia (UEA) welcomes hundreds of international students and we are pleased to offer a large number of scholarships specifically for self-funded international undergraduate students to help cover the cost of your studies.
The International Undergraduate Scholarships are designed to reward applicants who have been offered a place to study with UEA and who can, clearly and concisely, explain how studying here at UEA will help them to make an outstanding contribution to their chosen field of study and to the wider UEA community.
The university is looking for entrants who have researched the opportunities available to them as a student at UEA, who can demonstrate a track record of community engagement and who can demonstrate how their degree will make a difference to the lives and community around them. The International Undergraduate scholarship helps toward this.
Eligibility
When applying for this scholarship, you must already be in possession of a conditional or unconditional offer for the first year of an undergraduate degree course starting at UEA in September 2020. Your offer should state that you are an international fee-paying student.
To be classified as an international fee-paying student you typically need to be a non-EU resident. See the fees and funding page on the official website for more details of who will pay international tuition fees. If you are still in doubt, then please email the planning office who can advise you further.
You will also need to be independently funding your studies, which means that you can’t apply if an organisation is sponsoring your study and paying your tuition fees. However, if you will be in receipt of a government loan, you can still apply for this scholarship.
Please note, that offer holders for medicine, occupational therapy or physiotherapy courses are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Students who are currently studying a Foundation course in the UK are not eligible to apply for this scholarship, but can apply for UEA’s International Foundation Scholarships.
